Mini rant. When I ask my work colleagues to work a Saturday, they are absolutely not obliged to do so, but I wish they wouldn’t agree and then both ring in on the morning with crappy excuses!

I’m left cutting in and laying the last of this patio on my lonesome. By myself, my work rate is roughly 40% of that of two workers and maybe 25% of three workers, losing time going backwards and forwards, making cement mixes, carrying through slabs and doing the measuring and cutting. I feel like progress is sllooooww today.

^ Those are not laid btw, only in position.

Anyway, what’s Oppo upto on Hallows Eve? Something more fun, I hope.

Just washed the viper. Taking my kid and his friends to cicis pizza (my kid is a 14 year old Chinese exchange student so I am introducing him to American gluttony). Going to the cheap movie theater to see Jurassic world. Handing out candy and drinking bourbon.

My traditional beer and sushi while I hand out candy. I don't trust the neighborhood enough to not be home and no one ever ends up coming over to suffer with me. I'll take a pic of the cat (or maybe both cats) in costume for you guys.

Just finished tearing the carpet and pad out of my kitchen. Now to spend the rest of the afternoon crawling around prying staples out of the floor so it is ready for laminate next week.

Apparently it was a thing back in the day. It cuts down on broken dishware, but that is it's only redeeming quality.

What Finn said - it was a thing back in the late 70s early 80s. Not a very bright thing. Almost equally as bad: carpeting a bathroom.
